Making the seasoning
- 2 tbsp. oregano
- 1 tbsp. thyme
- 1 tbsp. Basil
- ½ tbsp. Fennel
- ½ tbsp. paprika
- 1 tbsp. Onion flakes
- ½ tbsp. Garlic powder
- ½ tbsp. of red pepper flakes
- Add some lemon zest if you like.
Take a large bowl where you can whisk all the above ingredients comfortably and without poring them.
Add all the ingredients above and mix them. I don’t like to add the lemon zest just because it’s in its liquid form.
Set them in an airtight can. And there you have the seasoning to use for the next time you are making your favorite pizza.
I’ll tell you that you can add any other ingredients you like. I’m not a fan of the rosemary herb, and that’s why I didn’t add it to the list but if you like it, then feel free to add it on. I don’t often add the fennel, but it has some unique flavors that you may also need.

Is pizza seasoning the same as Italian seasoning?
The Italian seasoning is almost similar to the pizza seasoning; the difference is that the pizza seasoning has more ingredients.
The good thing, though, is that they have all the ingredients that people like.
So, of course, if you like the seasoning being a little extra, consider using the pizza seasoning. Italian seasoning is excellent, but to say, it will not have some ingredients to spice it up.
Tips you should use when making the pizza using this seasoning.
Flavor your dough
You don’t want to overpower your dough, but you also don’t want to have bland dough.
So you can decide to use a little bit of the seasoning on the dough to make it tasty. Or better yet, use the onions and garlic spices on it.
Here’s my secret, I like to use dried oregano, dried basil, and sundried tomatoes.
So when you mix the ingredients into the flour, you will have an Italian style of herbed dough.
It means you won’t be using only the bland dough and expecting the cheese and the toppings to be everything.
Better knots for the sauce
You have to know how to make the sauce even tastier. You see, you will melt the butter and then add on the garlic, making the perfect combo for the sauce.
See, the seasoning will always have the right herbs to make the sauce even more flavorful.
Notice, though, that you should have the knots you want to make sure you also eat the perfect pizza.
There‘s something about using fresh herbs.
I know when making the seasoning; then you need to use dry herbs.
But if you want the food to be even tastier, consider using fresh herbs instead. The dried herbs usually have a different taste from the fresh ones.
Therefore, if you can find the pizza seasoning ingredients in their new form, you will make it even better.
So the fresh herbs will typically give you aromatic yet pungent flavors.

Pizza seasoning vs. Italian seasoning
The Italian season was first founded in the Mediterranean region. It’s, however, slowly getting harder to find.
So if you use Italian seasoning, you can expect to have the basil, oregano, thyme, and the likes.
This is the most traditional style of making the Italian seasoning. For some people, this appears to be a bland version, although you can also have other extra ingredients like sage, garlic powder, and cilantro, to mention a few options.
Notice that this seasoning, though, you will use in different meals, including the meats and the fish types, but they also use it on the pizza.
It doesn’t matter the food you wish to use it on; it will work. Therefore, the main difference is that the seasoning is lesser flavorful and spicy than the pizza one.
